The National Union of Metallurgical Workers of South Africa has come to the proposals to separate Eskom, reiterating that it will resist all attempts to break the utility of power or privatize it.
Numsa is one of the three recognized unions in Eskom, along with the National Union of Miners and Solidarity Workers.
In a statement, Numsa's secretary general Irvin Jim said the union had not been consulted for his views on the separation of Eskom.
In the event, Gordhan said the government would discuss the separation of "Eskom" soon.
This idea of the dissociation of Eskom has been proposed by energy experts such as Chris Yelland and the Organization for the elimination of taxes as part of a broader strategy to solve the utility energy charged with debts. The idea is usually to break Eskom into separate entities of electrical generation and electrical transmission.
In July 2018, the general treasurer of the ANC, Paul Mashatile, said that the head of the Capital Press Club, Eskom, could be divided into three entities: production, transmission and distribution.
Jim criticized Gordhan on Thursday for not having dedicated a hand to the future of Eskom.
"We are the most important players in Eskom because we represent the workers and has not communicated anything about the future of the SOE," he said.
"Our members read these reports and are alarmed because there have been no consultations with Eskom's future work. They have every reason to worry because Eskom recently embarked on senior executives in December , without informing or consulting union ".
