Overwatch: Moira, Symmetra, Winston and Zarya get a balance step. |

A new adjustment of armor is causing Blizzard to look again at the numbers of certain heroes damages.

The heroes with beam attacks are treated differently in Overwatch, since they do not cause damages in a traditional, as with bullets that can be measured.

Geoff Goodman, Blizzard's Hero Designer, discussed possible changes in the characters' path with these beam weapons because of how to interact with the new armature patch.

Damages derived from Winston's Tesla gun are processed differently.

Zarya, Symmetra, Winston and Moira have weapons that integrate in this category, which Goodman refers to "channeled effects."

"Right now all the effects" channeled "are reduced in a flat amount [against armor] like any other source of damage, "said Goodman." But the size of the damage packages is based solely on the speed with which they dial, although the adjustment of the weapons is done through a general DPS calculation. "

It was going to mention Winston specifically, a character with low damage packages but a "quick tick", as a character who might not be doing so much damage to the armor as planned.

"Winston's Tesla gun was initially adjusted when it had a faster update speed, since it felt much better to use it in this way. However, at the moment this also means that it does much less harm to the armor, "said Goodman.

Symmetra is another character with beam: a "channeled effect".

Blizzard does not say that these characters will be fans, but they say that Zarya, Winston, Moira and Symmetra will need additional aspects in the current goal, and the new technology will help to balance them in the future.

"We are getting new technology that allows us to separate the amounts of armor reduction for these effects from their update rate. This does not mean that we will go through and burn all these weapons necessarily, but Let's go through all of them and make sure we are happy with the damage they are doing with all the armored goals. "

The new technology should allow Blizzard to balance the characters of the channeled effect more effectively with the traditional overwatch cops and projectiles scanning characters.
