The ASTRONOMERS are baffled by a mysterious portion of space junk that orbits the Earth in an unusual way.
The rubble piece, so close to 370 kilometers from the surface of the Earth, is believed to be what is known as a "garbage empty object."
It is believed to be a rocket launching remnant, but experts can not figure out which spacecraft came from.
Empty Trash Bag Objects, also known as ETBO, often orbit erratically taking into account their size and shape.
They can stretch to several meters, but they tend to be incredibly lightweight, with this object weighing less than one pound.
Scientists say that, although they can not be sure of what is the object, it is likely that it is only a piece of lightweight material such as the metal lamina left by a space mission.
But he sent frenzy to the cells last week when on Friday he was watched by the telescope of the ultimate terrestrial impact warning system (ATLAS) in Haleakala, Hawaii.
The objective was later analyzed by experts from Northolt Branch Observatories in London, who could judge it as likely ETBO.
Astronomers here called the A10bMLz object, and said it is "extremely light", but it is also several meters long.
In a Facebook post, Northolt Branch Observatories explained: "This suggests that it is what is known as a" junk empty object. "
"A piece of lightweight material (probably a metal lamina), standing out from a rocket launch.
"It is still unclear when you have launched A10bMLz."
Currently, we have no idea about the origin of this object
Astronomers were bewildered after noticing that the object was in orbit in the opposite direction.
A10bMLz was moved in a "retrograde" way, scientists said instead of "prograde" from west to east.
The observatories of the Northolt Branch added: "The orbit is highly elliptical, with a perigee just 600 km above the earth's surface and an apogee 1.4 times farther than the Moon."
This great orbit – a first of its features for an ETBO – is increasingly difficult to identify the source of the object.
Space trash: what is a "garbage empty object"?
The result of thousands of space missions, Empty objects in the trash can constitute many of the 170 million estimated pieces of garbage that orbit the Earth.
Empty packaging Garbage objects, or ETBO, are called because of their unpredictability.
Because a plastic bag blows in with the wind, the ETBOs can change unlocks orbits.
Often light but large in size, objects can be affected by sun radiation and push in different directions.
They tend to orbit relatively near Earth.
But A10bMLz is unique since you have never seen an ETBO with such a large orbit.
In the farthest point of the Earth, the object is 1.4 times the distance to the Moon.

The Pluto project, which makes the planetarium software, said: "At present, we have no idea how to originate this object.
"This is mainly because its past trajectory is really uncertain.
"As with an empty trash bag that goes out, it can zigzag in unpredictable ways."
The sun's radiation pressure is sufficient to send the light object to strange directions.
It can even get burned in the Earth's atmosphere in a matter of months before they can echo where it comes from, according to Northolt Branch Observatories.
