Measures to prevent hantavirus
<< Before being in a house or uninhabited cottage, open and wind it at least an hour. Inspect if there are rodents.
<< If you find a living rodent, do not try to capture it. If the rodent is dead spray with 10% bleach (1 part of bleach in 9 parts of cold water) and collect it in a double bag using this as a glove, along with everything that could be in contact and bury as deep as possible or burn it.
<< Clean with heavy rubber gloves, and wash them, even places, in a solution with detergent and another with disinfectant.
<< Damp more water before sweating and wipe with damp cloth with chlorinated solution, surfaces, devices and furniture.
<< If you sleep outside, look at the place that you will take in case you excrete or cause it.
<< Avoid sleeping near wooden stackers or garbage areas that can be frequented by rodents.
<< Avoid sleeping on the floor without protection. Use mattresses 25 centimeters from the floor.
<< Enter or burn all trash.
<< Keep the camping site clear.
<< Eat boiled or chlorinated water if it is not potable.
<< Do not put sleeping bags on floors where you observe stool, dust, rubbish dumps or stacks of wood.
<< Do not sleep directly on the ground.
<< Save food in well-sealed containers.
<< Burn, bury or place in covered containers, all trash or food waste.
<< Use only bottled, chlorinated or boiled water, to drink, cook or wash the crockery.
<< Do not bring in the mouth grass or pallets collected from the ground.
