For the role of Lisa in the "American in Paris", Mirthes Monteiro would fly half the world. Now dance, singing, and an actor's crew landed in Linz, where the dance musical "American in Paris", celebrated in New York, Paris and London, celebrates the German premiere on Sunday after the music of George Gerswwin. The 32-year-old Brazilian talks about the role of dreams, attraction and another actor named Neimar.

OONachrichten: Ms. Monteiro, you speak in four languages, you have training in dance, singing, drama and circus, and stars are on the music stages of the world. What is someone like you in Linz?

Mirthes Monteiro: The theater here is an experience that I completely wanted to do. The theater is great, the productions are great. I often heard that Linz should be mad. The people who are here on stage are so good. It's an honor for me to be here. Above all, I like the role of Lisa that I'm allowed to play here. It is a gift.

You grew up in Sao Paolo, how are you doing in the cosmopolitan city of Linz?

I love Sao Paulo, but it's too big. You have a lot more time here. It's nice.

Is the sense of life – dancing, playing football, carnival – embedded in most Brazilians and at the same time the opportunity to reach the peak?

I think it's in the blood. I wake up in the morning, start the music and start dancing. We are very extrovert. We are fighters, we are simple and we are trying to achieve our dreams.

Do you have a favorite player? Neimar is almost an actor.

He can not do anything. So he can work. I love Robert Carlos and Ronald.

How did you start your art career?

I started at the bottom. I was a dancer and I grew up in the countryside, and then I returned to Sao Paolo for only 18 years. In 21 years I won dance auditions for "King Lions" in Hamburg. It was crazy! Eleven years ago, I went only to Germany, without speaking one word of German or English. It was a big change. I was brave and very disciplined and had almost no private life for years.

They spent three years with Princess Jasmine at Disney's Aladdin in Hamburg. How do you survive?

There were almost a thousand plays, eight times a week. Enough.

An American in Paris

In 1928, he premiered the spectacular composition "The American in Paris" by George Gerswwin in New York. More than six decades after the sensational success of Gene Kelly from 1951 – about romantic love after the end of the Second World War in Paris – the fabric became evergreen like "I've got a rhythm," "With wonderful" and "They can" do not take it from me "into a successful musical.

Linz production

The leading production team – mostly Nick Winston (director and choreographer), Charles Kuiggin (stage) and Alek Valasek (Costume) and Tom Bitterlich (he leads the Bruckner Orchestra) – is also brilliant as an expansive ensemble consisting of performers and dancers,

Cast: Gerry Romic (Jerri Mulligan) and Mirthes Monteiro (Lise Dassin). Monteiro is seasonal in season.
