At the end of December 2018, the electricity supplier Zeno (previously Klinkenberg) stopped delivering supplies for individuals, to focus on providing professionals. Only in 2018, many retail providers have disappeared or are about to disappear. Thus, Belpower, Energy I & V, Enovos, Comfort Energy. Others have been absorbed by majors.
This is the first time in years that we have seen this phenomenon. However, new users who entered the market practiced a very aggressive pricing policy that benefited consumers. In the list of the cheapest providers, these "small" suppliers were found most of the time. But this is the case, the market for electricity is extremely competitive and the margins are very low. In addition, providers that are not themselves energy producers must acquire power in international markets and, therefore, are subject to strong fluctuations. If they do not reach a critical size, they are doomed to disappear.
