Bolsonaro signs a law allowing Brazil to buy vaccines from the Covax Facility consortium Vaccine

The knee Law no. March 14, 211: authorizes the federal executive branch to adhere to the Covid-19 (Covax Facility) Global Access to Vaccine Instrument and establishes guidelines for immunization. Article 2 states that the government will be able to buy “safe and effective” vaccines.

Doses planned for Brazil and the world

In October, the executive secretary of the Ministry of Health, Elcio Franco, reported that Brazil’s contribution to the global alliance provided, in return, the receipt of 42 million doses of vaccines.

This total would be enough to cover 10% of the Brazilian population, which is equivalent to approximately 21 million people (taking into account the need for a double dose).
