Months after the premiere of the new Mercedes A class with the elegant MBUKS system developed by Bulgarian engineers, the automotive giant announced its next revolutionary technology with the presence of the born. This is the cockpit of the state-of-the-art truck in the world – the new Actros with Active Drive Assist.
The role of the Bulgarian development center of Viseon is extremely large – from the engineering direction of the project to the development of individual elements of the architecture of the system. On the device, independently of each other, three different operating systems work to provide a safe and secure environment for performing certain functionality. The revolution for this type of embedded systems is the use of hardware virtualization software to better manage peripheral devices. The project is based on Viston's SmartCore technology that integrates several traditional devices into a single system. With this success with its first truck project, engineers at the Sofia Center for Development are extremely satisfied with the acquisition of a unique experience in heavy transport.
With a series of performances at various exhibitions and the launch of his carrier Actros, Daimler has been live-live live. The main features of new trucks are removing the side mirrors and fully digitized interior cabins. Traditional power tools (speedometers, turntables, etc.) They are replaced with a large display that can be configured as required by the driver. The number of buttons around the dashboard is also drastically reduced with touch-sensitive control panels; the driver can change menus that provide information on the status of traffic and vehicle condition, driving mode or only quick access to the multimedia and connected phone.
Other interesting modules in the new actors are:
- semi-autonomous driving (the truck itself follows and does not leave the tape)
- identification of road signs and objects, as well as road users
- Explanation of Lane Lane (in case of manual operation) and Explanation of the facility in the field of blind vision (empty)
- configurable display of the panel in accordance with driver preferences and customization of the truck through the driver profile
In addition to the control panel, the central touchscreen with an intuitive interface, the steering wheel buttons and the quick release button under the center screen deserve attention. They allow the driver to easily navigate through menus, whether it is music and entertainment, or to get important information about the status of the truck and to manage various functions that can be further installed on the vehicle.
The main menus available on the central display are:
- Media and radio
- Phone and smartphone (using Apple interfaces – CarPlai and Google – AndroidAuto)
- Lighting control
- Truck status
- Virtual keys
- Air conditioning control
Equipped with more than 60 new features, the Mercedes-Benz Trucks actually released a partial autonomous drive in serial production, and Bulgarian engineers once again proved the scale of their world class and skills.
