3 headed to the hospital for radios at West Edmonton Mall

Three people were transferred to the hospital with injuries on Sunday morning of an electronic dance party in West Edmonton Mall, according to Alberta health services.

You have celebrated a Soundwave party at the Waterpark indoor from 7:30 a.m. Saturday at 2 a.m. on sunday

Two patients were transferred to the hospital in a stable state and a patient was transported in serious and potentially fatal conditions, said AHS spokesman Kerry Williamson in an email on Sunday.

It is not clear how people were injured.

A page of events on Facebook describes Soundwave as the "wildest covered beach party" in the largest water park in North America at West Edmonton Mall.

The electronic dance party featured Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike.

Injuries that occur from electronic dance parties, or raves, are not new.

Last December, a 20-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and two other men were taken to a hospital in a serious state after a Shaw Conference Center.

In June 2018, the community and the Edmonton public services committee discussed the suspension of complaints after having received a report on the cases of injuries, assaults and high drug use in these events .

The committee decided to ban the whole sector, and agreed, instead, to consider other options to improve rave safety.

The commission expects another report with recommendations at the beginning of 2019.
