Some of these applications send detailed information to the social network that can be considered sensitive. For example, Kayak sends Facebook information about people's flight searches, including the city of departure, the date and airport, as well as where you plan to go, how long you want to stay and how many people are traveling with them. It also shares information about the type of ticket someone is looking for.

Other popular applications that determine how to send data to Facebook include MyFitnessPal, Duolingo, Skyscanner, TripAdvisor, Spotify, Yelp, Shazam and Indeed.
