Interior Health does not echo BC’s daily COVID record

80 new cases were reported on Thursday, April 8, compared to 91 the day before

There are a record number of daily cases of COVID-19 in BC, but not for inner health.

The local area reports 80 new cases on Thursday, April 8, which dropped from number 91 the day before. Meanwhile, the province as a whole recorded a maximum of 1,293 cases,

The number of cases in facilities that reported outbreaks also remains unchanged from yesterday’s reports.

The Cottonwoods Care Center’s long-term care facility in Kelowna has 28 cases: 25 residents and three officials, with one death related to the outbreak.

Unit 4E of Kelowna General Hospital has three cases: one patient and two staff.

The level three surgical unit at Vernon Jubilee Hospital has 14 cases: 10 patients and four people with an outbreak-related death.
