J.D. Irving Ltd. is looking to hire 727 full-time people at P.E.I. during the next three years, according to the company's work forecast released this Thursday.
In addition to full-time recruitment, J.D.I. He is also looking to hire 60 students on the island during this time.
Mary Keith, vice president of communications with J.D.I., said that approximately 490 jobs would be found in Cavendish Farms to accommodate retirees and normal rotation.
About 300 of the jobs would be located at the Kent Building supplies stores.
Shipping, operations and logistics, as well as retail sales are the main occupations that the company seeks to fill P.E.I.
"From the perspective of the island, we really value the associations we have with the educational institutions that are this great source of the next generation of people who are going to work in the operations," said Keith. "We work closely with Holland College and with UPEI … Our recruiting people are launching on several campuses in the coming months."
P.E.I. The jobs are part of the general plans of the company to hire 7,500 full-time people and 2,500 students in Canada and the United States.
