PARIS: The periodic table of chemical elements has its 150th anniversary, and the U. scientific agency celebrates a year of celebrations.
Anyone who has studied chemistry will recognize the table, which organizes all chemical elements for the amount of protons of a given atom and other properties. Russian scientist Dmitry Mendeleev published the first table in 1969.
The U.N. Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization opened on Tuesday the "Chemical Elements Table of the" International Year of the Epoch "with a ceremony that includes a Nobel Prize in Chemistry and the Minister of Science of Russia , among other dignitaries.
Other activities organized by UNESCO this year include an online contest to test the knowledge of high school students on the table and scientific experiments conducted in schools around the world.
