Animalist organization asks to remove protagonist from "Toy Story"

With the countdown running for the premiere of "Toy Story 4", The animalist organization PETA sent a petition addressed to the director of Pixar's animated tape.

The text was signed by the PETA Manager of Animals in Cinema and Television, Lauren Thomasson, In which he asks for the removal of the grazing rod for the character Bo Peep, La Ovejera who is lovingly interested in Woody.

According to PETA, the cane is a symbol of violence against sheep, Since it's been used historically by Stick-by the legs and neck in the wool industry.

"A symbol of domination over any animal is a thing of the past and it is not something that belongs to Toy Story 4 & # 39;. Should not you consider eliminating Bo Peep's cane from the final animation? "Says the petition.

"Many of our more than 6.5 million members and sympathizers around the world have estimated the Toy Story franchise since its inception… paved the way for computer animation and digital technologies to replace wild animals that would otherwise be exploited for the big screen, "Thomasson said.

"Today I am communicating with you about the new image of Bo Peep. Since it was designed to have a "modern" look, why it has not been lost & # 39; to this old-fashioned and cruel stick? You may not know that these pastor's "& # 39; scales" They only use to paste the neck of a sheep and force these soft animals to move. This is not something that a progressive Bo Peep would tolerate in 2019!"He added the text.

"Toy Story 4" premieres in theaters on June 21, 2019.
