Authorities unveil plans focused on mental, social and emotional well-being – Latin Link NC

North Carolina, Raleigh- Seven organizations were selected by the state Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) to function as personalized behavioral health and intellectual disability plans.

Developmental disabilities are considered (personalized behavioral health I / D plans).

Those who need certain services to treat a serious mental illness, emotional disorder, substance use problem, intellectual disability, developmental or traumatic brain injury may be eligible to enroll in a personalized plan.

The organizations that obtained contract to serve like personalized regional plans of I / DD of behavioral health are:

  • Alliance Health

  • Eastpointe

  • Partner health management

  • Sandhills Center

  • Trillium Health Resources

  • go Health

  • Cardinal Innovations Healthcare

These personalized plans will provide integrated physical health, behavioral health, long-term care, and pharmacy services.

They will address unmet health-related resource needs for North Carolina residents who qualify under a plan.

These plans will provide the same services as standard Medicaid plans with additional specialized services to care for those with significant behavioral conditions.

These include those using home and community-based service exemptions, and those using state-funded services.

that’s how they will work

The plans will operate at the regional level and – as reported by the NCDHHS – will offer sound care management to nearly 200,000 people who are estimated to sign up.

An additional unique feature of these plans is the combination of Medicaid and state funds to support enrolled populations.

The award of the contract covers the counties in each catchment area as of this Monday, as well as the readjustments approved by Secretary of Health Mandy Cohen as of this September 1st.
