Central Bohemia – the disease has increased, but the flu can not. Thus it is possible to summarize the findings of Central-Czech hygienists as a result of the evaluation of reports by practitioners and pediatricians on the occurrence of acute respiratory infections and flu among their patients in the 46 calendar week.
For cases that may be influenza due to a clinical picture of the disease, hygienists recorded a third increase over the previous week – an increase of 33.3 percent. This type of disease in the central Bohemian region currently represents eight patients per one hundred thousand inhabitants. However, the real flu does not work, says Lilian Ruml, head of the department against the epidemic of central bohemian hygiene. This has been proven by laboratory research. "The flu virus was negative from biological sampling," Ruml said.
However, such diseases as flu are only a decline in the morale of total morbidity; according to the calculation of hygienists, represent only 0.8 percent of the total number of acute respiratory infections in the region. In the case of the previous week, there was a growth of 6.9 percent.
In the national average, the total disease is 1054 diseases per 100,000 inhabitants. However, there are significant differences between the regions. The highest percentage of patients was recorded in Pribram (where, however, the situation is virtually unchanged compared to the previous week); On the contrary, this is best for Kladno. "The most vulnerable age group is children under five," Ruml recalled, which is typical of the distribution of respiratory diseases in the population.
