In the end, the European Parliament approved a telecommunication package that specifies maximum travel allowances abroad. The new law limits fees without the EU at less than 5 kronor per minute and 1.5 kronor per SMS.
New legislation should apply from May 15, 2019, but the statute will be two years to apply it. The aim is to ensure that EU phones are affordable and easy to connect with other EU countries.
In practice, the operator is set a limit, which operators should not circulate – less than a few crowns per minute free in US dollars and 1.5 kronor per SMS. The new enthusiast of telecommunications continues in the early years, which in 2017 led to a roaming interruption.
The new law thus prescribes that by 2020, it will be necessary to use only 5G, with a twelve-step rate of data transfer, which makes it easier to use the latest communication technology. 5G will have to be minimal in one big city in each EU country.
The telecommunication package includes a mandatory warning system. "If there is a call, for example a terrorist or a disaster, it must be warned by SMS or mobile applications," Thomas Haahr, who spoke to the European Parliament, said. The new warning system should be used to give sirens, which, according to experts, are not effective.
