Africa “needs $ 12 billion” for vaccines to leave COVID –

Addis Ababa, April 6, 2021 (Walta) – A World Bank report has estimated that Africa needs about $ 12 billion ($ 8.6 billion) to buy and distribute enough coronavirus vaccines to stop the transmission of the virus.

A paper written by the International Monetary Fund also argues that G-20 countries should extend their moratorium on debt repayment offered to the world’s poorest countries.

He says it should be done one more year, in response to the pandemic.

The World Bank and IMF are holding their spring meetings this week to discuss issues of global concern, such as vaccines, debt, economic recovery and climate change.
