Digital disturbances to add 1.4 million new IT jobs in India by 2027

India will probably add more than 1.4 million new IT jobs by 2027, there is a joint study by Cisco and International Data Corporation (IDC). This represents 46% of job growth primarily driven by new technologies such as CyberSecure, Internet Things (IoT) and Big Data, which are the transformational skills that organizations are looking for.

According to IDC InfoBrief, "the 20 most important IT roles to consider in India", such as social media administrator, machine learning designer and IoT designer, are among the most sought-after jobs in the years to come.

Out of 9.1 million IT jobs in India in 2017, 5.9 million jobs were for new roles. By the year 2027, at the global level, new jobs will add more than 5 million jobs.

As the skills required in this digital age change in most industries, it also transforms how and where people work. As a result, it would be difficult for IT organizations to fill in these niche roles.

"This requires the upgrade of skill sets of employees through certification programs to upgrade their knowledge and develop an organization from the inside," the survey showed.

The study also found that almost one fifth of employees self-financed certification courses, and about 50% of them went through training in 2017.

About 89% of jobseekers reported a higher degree of trust among candidates who have certificates, while 88% of clients experienced improvement in service levels and end-user support.

Cisco also offers certification courses in most of these new skills. Cisco Certified NetWork Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified NetWork Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified NetWorking Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), CCNP Collaboration and CCNP Securiti were among the most sought-after Cisco certifications in the past year.
