Head of the Health Office of the Probolinggo district Dr. Anang Budi Yoelijanto, through the head of control of non-transmissible diseases and mental health Wiwik Yuliati, said that the purpose of the activity was that the women of Probolinggo Regency were free of neck and breast cancer and 30% of women 30 to 50 years in the Probolinggo region to detect cancer of the cervix and breast cancer soon. .
"Additionally, the discovery of the first cases of cervical cancer and breast cancer has increased, increasing the motivation of people to perform routine health checks, as well as increasing the coverage of early detection of cervical cancer and breast cancer in the Probolinggo region, "he said.
According to Wiwik, cancer is a non-transmissible disease where cancer of the cervix and breast cancer are the highest cancers of women in Indonesia. The Ministry of Health has initiated and implemented a program for early detection of cervical cancer and breast cancer since 2007, but it has not worked in an optimal way.
"This is because there is still a low level of public knowledge about prevention and early detection, the lack of human resources and the lack of access to early detection services. Among all types of cancer, cervical cancer and the Breast cancer becomes cancer with the highest prevalence in Indonesia, "he explained.
Wiwik also emphasized that cervical and breast cancer is a public health problem in Probolinggo that requires comprehensive and early treatment.
"From the data available during the 2015-2018 period to Probolinggo Regency, data were obtained: women from 30 to 50 years old with positive VAT in 2015 to 73 of 2,388 people examined, in 2016 there were 16 people of 1,323 people Examined in 2017 A total of 92 people from 4,753 people examined and increased 2018 to 105 people from 3,710 people examined, "he explained.
Wiwik added that more and more women who were examined for breast and cervical cancer could be known as soon as possible because women could be free of neck and breast cancer.
"The hope is that all women are free from cancer, decreased morbidity and cancer mortality, an increase in the coverage of early detection of breast and uterine cancer and the growing number of centers of health careers that perform free exams for early cervical cancer and breast cancer, "he concluded.
