Mercedes reveals details of the latest luxury SUV


Mercedes has revealed the details of its state-of-the-art luxury SUV – the new GLE, which includes several upgrades including an additional couple of rear seats, the latest MBUKS iteration from the Mercedes information system and a couple of upgraded engines.

The range starts with GLE 300d, which replaces 250d. Despite its name, the 2.0-liter – four-cylinder diesel still produces 242 hp and 500 Nm of torque. It can range from 0 to 60 km / h in 7.0 seconds, and will reach 46.3 mpg, emitting 162 g / km CO2, although larger wheel sizes will increase these emissions.

For people who prefer petrol, Mercedes GLE 450 – powered by a six-cylinder engine with a mild hybrid system "EK Boost". The 48V setting adds 22bhp to the car's output, giving it a total of 362bhp and 500Nm of torque.

450 is capable of 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds and will return 33.6mpg while emitting 191g / km CO2.

All GLEs come with the latest infotainment system MBUKS, which extends into two 12.3-inch displays on the instrument panel and the central console. Includes functions such as enhanced reality navigation, which covers directional directions on the source from the front camera, as well as voice activation.

All cars also receive 20-inch AMG alloy wheels, luminaires for illumination and boards, privacy glass, front seat heating, leather seats, dual climate control and active parking assist.

GLE 450 adds active air suspension, as well as a seven-seat package. Includes manual flashes third row plus four-zone climate control. Accessories include a premium Burmester sound system, keiless go, LED headlights, wireless charging and a terrain package.
