Over 100 guards spend raids in three districts in an anti-drug operation

Over 100 guards carried out raids in three districts as part of a current Munster-based drug trafficking operation.

Members of the Limerick Drugs Unit, supported by the Garda Unit and local officials, searched 29 rooms in Limerick, Tipperary and Korku this morning.

Three people, aged over 30, were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking, and nine drugs were detected.

During an operation close to 15,000 euros worth of cocaine and cannabis was seized with a fate of 8,000 euros suspected of having proceeds from crime.

The spokesman said: "The three men who were arrested are currently detained at Henri Street and Bruff Gardens under Article 4 of the 1984 Criminal Procedure Code.

"The focus of today's operation was intelligence gathering and involved up to 100 members of the An Garda Siochana."
