Coronation Street star Sam Aston is expecting his second child with his wife Briony.

The English actor took to Instagram to reveal the news with an adorable snapshot of his 14-month-old son Sonny.

Sonny could be seen holding a blackboard that said, “Let’s add another pumpkin to our patch! By the spring of 2022. “

Briony’s wife shared the same image on her account and Sam’s Coronation Street colleagues hurried to congratulate her husband and wife on their wonderful family news.

Brooke Vincent wrote, “Ahhhhhhhhh congratulations.”

Sam, famous for his role as Chesney Brown on the ITV soap since 2003, recently talked about his and Briony’s dream of having more children.

He said OK! : “Yes, it would be good to fill the house. There is room for one more and then we would get the most out of it!

“I’m really enjoying this time with Sonny and all the stages I love, so I’m in no hurry to have another one right now. We are still young and we hope we have time by our side. “

“If we’re lucky, I’d still love it,” Briony added. “But we need a bigger house!

“I wouldn’t try it yet, as I don’t want to risk having another premature baby, but I would love to have brothers and sisters for him.”

The couple’s eldest son, Sonny, arrived six weeks before the due date, August 2020, which caused the baby and Briony to stay in the hospital nine days after birth.

Sam married his beloved childhood Briony at an impressive Cheshire ceremony in May 2019, with the actor saying at the time that he was “the luckiest man in life.”
