On the 17th (local time), the Daily Star quoted an announcement from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and reported that a giant asteroid is expected to approach Earth’s orbit around 21:35 pm EST on the 21st of the United States.
The asteroid is estimated to be 670 m in diameter and 1.5 km in diameter, moving at a speed of 11.68 km per second and 42.047 km per hour.
This asteroid is classified as an Apollo asteroid and is currently recorded as an object close to Earth because it is expected to fit 1.3 astronomical units of 155 million kilometers between Earth and the Sun.
Earlier, NASA said in a report that “even an asteroid 1 km in diameter can destroy the Earth.” NASA stressed the importance of the impact of asteroids, saying: “About 65 million years ago, when a 10 km diameter asteroid hit the Yucatan Peninsula, it caused the extinction of the dinosaurs.”
NASA is currently tracking the asteroid that will approach Earth’s orbit on the 21st.
