On the eve of the centenary of the country, on November 17, Symphony Orchestra Liepaja (LSO) in the concert hall "Lielais dzintars" invites to the concert "Mother of Latvia", which will feature five special pieces for this event, as well as Second Simphoni Rihard Dubra. The concert will be conducted by the conductor of the orchestra Gintars Rinkevičs.
The repertoire of the concert is composed of new and newly created compositions of Latvian composers, this time it does not look so much in Latvia for the last hundred years, but the opening of the curtain in the next hundred years. The first part of the concert will feature the symphony miniature cycle "The Five Tapestries for Beauty of Latvia" with the works by Maia Einfelde, Selge Mence, Marina Gribinčička, Gundegas Smithsa and Santa Ratnieces, especially for Latvian anniversary.
S. Mants as a former lieutenant in his miniature lectures on winds and waves, composition S. Ratnieches "Aureole" is dedicated to the brightness of the light circle in the paintings, which include figures of various sacred figures, the withdrawal of parallels with a moonlight or halo rings, and a rare natural phenomenon in cold winter nights can also be seen in Latvia. M. Gribinčika in miniature waves "Kolka Horn" is shown as a beautiful phenomenon in Latvia, which can be seen on the windy days when the waves of the Gulf of Riga and the Baltic Sea meet. G. Smith, thinking about Latvia for 100 years of existence, has found a symbol of his will in the windy picture, which in its composition painted in color, opens new roads, strengthens and pushes, but Latvia is like a small boat, whose wind is falling longer in the waters. M. Einfelde gave his title "And all the bright sun shines in three colors …".
Three years ago, LSO, discovering its 135th season, still played in the Latvian Liepaja Society at the same time as Rihards Dubra's second symphony – the cycle of the devotional orchestra for the centenary of Latvia – commissioned and played 12 symphonies of Latvian composers. On the eve of the anniversary, the symphony of R. Dubre will sound again, this time in the "Great Amber". Due to her composition, the composer says that the great story of the symphony is about great ideas, although nothing has been said directly. "There are still visions of how I feel about what is happening in the world at the moment, how everything is transforming, transforming. One of the basics in which I love ideas is the book of Revelations of John," the author of that symphony.
"The concert is intended for a gift of love and a gift to mother Latvia. On big holidays we want to give Latvia new sounds – not so much to postpone nostalgic memories, so that we can take steps in the next century." Instead of transferring the approximate value, she poured in, look at the values of the future cultural canon, "says Uldis Lipskis, Member of the LSO Committee.
