Famous futurist in the world of technology, Michael Ludden, an artificial intelligence expert, arrives in Lithuania. November 15th Baltic Mobile Congress, a virtual and complementary reality specialist at the Vilnius International Mobile Economics Conference, will tell you that our life will be replaced by a virtual and complementary reality. According to him, very interesting changes are expected.
Muddi Ludden, a technology vendor at IBM Vatson, Samsung, Google and others, says that today we meet artificial intelligence every day, and in the next 5 years we cover all our areas of life.
You are the coauthor of several books on transhumanism and supernatural reality. These publications will soon reach the bookstore. Who is most interested in today's technological innovation?
Today, it is most interesting to observe the effects of artificial intelligence on virtual and complementary reality and how it will change the world in which we live, work and study. Already, image technology, virtual and increased reality, applies to education, sports, treatment and security. It is therefore a great pleasure to see the unexpected areas of our lives in the next decade in order to accept this technology and to positively change our everyday life.
Artificial intelligence has the ability to learn and improve. What do you think is the level that has been achieved at this time?
I always say that there are two ways to speak and evaluate artificial intelligence. First of all, there is a narrow artificial intelligence that performs certain things very well, but can not decide for itself to learn and develop on its own in other areas. For example, scientists can learn such artificial intelligence to win the best player in the world, but this artificial intelligence will never succeed in love affairs.
What's the other way?
It's self-evolving artificial intelligence that can decide what you want to do. For example, he is good at playing chess, but he decides he wants to learn to draw, and that's what works well. In the world today we have many examples of narrow artificial intelligence, but we still do not have another type. Unfortunately, we are still far from it, and it is still difficult to predict when artificial intelligence will reach a higher level.
Skeptics are afraid that virtual reality will take away their work from people. Can this happen?
If we look at the story, we see that people are always afraid that technology will take its place and take away their work. But, on the contrary, experience shows that they help make the job faster, easier and more efficient. Millions of years ago, people themselves built pyramids and stone wings, and today builders can deal with large machines that make their work easier. Thanks to artificial intelligence, people will no longer need to enter data into Excel program tables or other digital works to better perform devices. People will not go away, they will simply manage these processes.
What, in your opinion, can still be expected from artificial intelligence after 5 years?
In a five-year perspective there will be no areas in which artificial intelligence will not be applied. Everything – from medicine to games, from business to marketing – will inevitably be influenced by artificial intelligence. I do not think it will last five years, when artificial intelligence will become a routine in our everyday life.
