Every other person in the world with diabetes does not know that he has this disease. Lithuania has over 100,000 people with diabetes. According to doctors, due to type 2 diabetes, a person does not feel any symptoms, so it should be checked regularly.
Inspection should in particular be obesity, abuse of unhealthy foods, it is moving a little. However, the first type of diabetes can even cause young, lean and healthy people. This is stated in the DELFI TV studio.
Aiste Jakimavičiute-Bikauskei is currently 28 years old and is suffering from the first type of diabetes for 10 years.
"During these years, I have experienced all kinds of things – maltreatment at school, lack of understanding of school staff, but also new technologies adapted to managing this disease," Aist said in a statement for DELFI TV studio.
– Education is particularly important in health issues. I.e. We can eat the disease when we understand it, otherwise we can not do anything. Diabetes is a very malignant disease, because I do not feel bad today, but after 20 years I can be very sad, so it's very important to talk about it. That's why I want to share knowledge with the people I have acquired. "
Elva Ramashkiene, a pharmacist at Eurovision, says that all diagnosed with diabetes in the family is changing – a diet, a regime. "Not only for the person diagnosed with the disease," says the pharmacist.
What is Diabetes and What Are Different Types Of Diabetes?
According to Aistes' treatment with diabetes, the most common myth is that diabetes is sick due to excessive management of sweets in childhood. "People think diabetes is directly related to it," says Aiste.
VUL Santaros Clinic, Modest Petravičiute's Endocrinologist, says diabetes mellitus is a disease in which blood glucose is present.
"Pancreas produces an insulin hormone that regulates blood glucose levels, decreases blood glucose by switching it to cells, and therefore receives energy." When there is diabetes mellitus, insulin does not have insulin in the first type of diabetes or its absolute deficiency. a disease that affects pancreas and is not insulin, says the endocrinologist.
– Type 2 diabetes usually comes from obesity, as if you live ill, without moving. When body weight is high, insulin resistance develops in the body. This means that cells need more insulin to allow the penetration of glucose. People need less normal reduction, and an obese person needs more. As a result, the person still feels good because the pancreas produces too much insulin because it needs more.
Finally, the pancreatic function disappears at a certain time, insulin is reduced, and another type of diabetes develops. Both in the first and second cases of diabetes are due to genetics. It is a complex disease, which is determined both by genetic and environmental factors. "
The doctor says that it is not known why people develop the first type of diabetes.
"Thinking differently – virus, genetics, but the exact cause is unknown. There is a genetic predisposition, but it is not known why it is developing," says the doctor.
According to the doctor, the risk factors for another type of diabetes have changed – start to work (it is recommended to move at least 30 minutes a day to increase heart attack), a balanced diet, and the adjustment of blood cholesterol levels. When the mass falls, blood pressure also decreases.
Farmacist E. Ramashkin says that the first type of diabetes is difficult to detect these days, however, the first symptoms must be checked:
- frequent urination;
- weight loss
Prevention of type 2 diabetes.
As soon as diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, the better. "Symptoms last up to several months before patients are forced to go to the hospital, undergoing reanimation and diagnosing the disease," says Dr. Petravičiute,
When it gets worse, the taste of acetone is felt in the mouth.
"In adults, the symptoms seem to be milder, they do not pay attention to children as it is, so it is sometimes advisable to check the blood sugar level prophylactically. People are believed to have an increase in blood glucose, but there is no diabetes, and the disease can be avoided. In this case, medication and nutrition are adapted, says the endocrinologist.
"At the beginning, health can still be cured, but if you have another type of diabetes, as in the first case, you will need to have insulin and the like. There is no return," says Aiste, a diabetic.
"As is known, 80% of people with type 2 diabetes die of cardiovascular disease, because everything is neglected," says E. Ramashen.
