Regarding music rights collections, they increased by 567%, leading to Moroccan contributions to collections in Africa to 7.8%, CISAC said, noting that African companies in the year 2017 raised 75 million euros from 15.7 million %.

At the global level, the rights that were collected for the creators of all repertoires, music, audio-visual, visual arts, appearances and literature, reached a record of 9.6 billion euros in 2017, an increase of 6.2% from the previous year.

In addition, only 13% of creator revenue comes from digital (compared to 11% in 2016), "which reflects the incredible gap between the quantity of content available on the Internet and the amount that returns to creators," the Confederation said.

Growing for the fifth year in a row, the creator's revenue is in all repertoires, the robust growth in TV and radio revenues suggests that digital data growth is currently not harmful to traditional sources of revenue.
