Argentine cartoonist Mordillo has died. The Spanish media inform it today. He turned 86 years old.
Mordillo has become famous in the world because his cartoons can be found mainly in posters, postcards and calendars.
Guillermo Mordillo Menéndez, who signed with the name of Mordillo, is a son of Spanish emigrants. He started drawing at age 14. He lived and worked in Paris in the seventies. Since he barely mastered the French language, he mainly drew drawings without text.
He became known for his characters with convex noses and long neck. His favorite subjects were football and golf, and especially animals.
Mordillo lives in Mallorca since 1980, where he still worked until just before his death.
