The spending of the state is increasing mainly due to the increase in the provision of NSA services

Public expenditures increase by 3% annually since 1998. This sector includes all government and semi-government organizations. Growth has largely caused increased services in, for example, education and health care.

Costs in the market or the commercial sector grew faster by 1.3 percent annually, while services increased by the same amount.

This is what the Office for Social and Cultural Planning reports in a public opinion report, which provides an overview of developments in the spending of 27 public services between 1998 and 2015.

Public spending on public services in 1998 amounted to 74 billion euros. In 2015, this amount has increased to 123 billion. SCP emphasizes that this does not apply to the amount paid in, for example, social security.

The cost of curative and long-term care is the most common

Differences between sections of the public sector are large. In the so-called. Curative care (which is focused on treatment and treatment) costs increased by 32%, in the long-term care, the growth was 27%. This is partly due to the age population. Security and justice (9 percent), social security (2 percent) and other sectors (7 percent) represent a much smaller proportion of costs.

In 2015, 60 percent of total public expenditure was financed by the government. The citizens provided 7 percent of their own payments, and the remaining 33 percent fell to a large extent in collective schemes such as the Health Insurance Law.

According to SCP, rising personnel costs are the main cause of public expenditure growth. They make up about two-thirds of the total cost.
