OPINION: Here is a brief list of things you can buy for $ 600:
Return to flights to Melbourne to Air New Zealand, a case of Champagne Paul Louis Martin Bouzy Grand Cru, most of an iPhone 7 and all a reconditioned iPhone 8, this Toyota Starlet of 1996.
Now you can add the latest Dyson hair dryer, the Dyson Supersonic, to this list of disagreements of $ 600 (well, $ 599). The dryer and his companion, the 849-dollar Dyson Air-wrap hair modeler, are launching in New Zealand and, for the first time, you can buy them in physical stores such as David Jones and Sephora at from July 20.
The Supersonic is available to buy for a while online. We wrote about its initial release in 2016, when the price was $ 700 and was only available in New Zealand online.

At that time, senior engineer Dyson, Adriano Niro said Sydney Morning Herald Melissa Singer, although the price would leave some buyers out, was still good value for money.
"We have always had the skills to design a hair dryer [at Dyson].
"There is never a new product that does not benefit the consumer … we have to be better than anything else".
Air-wrap is also new to New Zealand stores, but at such a crazy price I can not wrap my head around this time. $ 849 will take you most of the way to LA and back, wet or dry hair.
I was surprised to find Trade Me for just $ 1399. Is it your point of sale? Not available in New Zealand. I have some bad news for them.
The fact that the Supersonic has existed for a couple of years, however, leads me to think that people regularly spend $ 600, six zero zero, dollars from New Zealand for something that dries your hair: a process, I could add, which happens naturally free in the most common circumstances
Who on earth? And why should I leave for this extravagance of a small device?
Not that you do not use a hair dryer. I do. I have a lot of hair, they often need to dry out. But my hair dryer cost me 30 dollars and I have been working perfectly for my needs for the last four or five years, perhaps more. It is simple, with three speeds and three temperatures. And I'm not sure how it could be improved with more technology of $ 570.
According to the description of the Supersonic, a lot.
First of all, it's fast: "The airflow moves out of the Dyson hair dryer at 105 mph to dry quickly and has a stream of air centered for precise and simultaneous drying and style" says the launch.
Easy to handle: "Designed with the engine in the handle, Dyson has changed the center of gravity, so it feels balanced in the hand."
And it comes with all the bells and whistles: "Swivel magnetic attachments, including the smoothing nozzle, style hub and diffuser, so you can quickly click and activate it during the style ".
So, in fact, it has much more in common with the Starlet that is only its price. Varoom!
Certainly, I can see how this product would be valuable for a specific section of the community. I have some friends who are models, and having a good hair is part of their job description. The stylists and the makeup artists would naturally make a great use of a product like this.
But this is not where the dryer is directed. It will be sold to retail stores, presumably with an eye on the same market that pays up to $ 395 to a pop for GDH hair clippers: every day they want to have sensational hair and versatile tools to achieve this. But I am still not convinced that you have to leave so much for once this time.
The Remington Air 3D hair dryer has a similar "airflow" profile in the Dyson, it is lightweight and offers "a soft conditioning technology that reduces the frizz and achieves an ultra smooth finish." It's just $ 399 for Noel leaming.
Adore Beauty offers the GHD Air Professional hair dryer for 265 dollars. Noel Leaming offers a VS Sassoon Keratin Protect Salon Performance hair dryer again for $ 139.99.
There are many options to take money for hair care, if that is what your boat floats.
As for the air wrap, if you need your hair to be bad, I have a bread crust bag and a bridge cable … oh, I do not know, half the price of Dyson? Grab your credit card, let's talk.
