Fog at Auckland airport Saturday early.
The fog restrictions in the Auckland airport have canceled 31 national regional flights and have delayed 31 regional national flights.
Auckland airport said that flights and international flights to Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown had not been affected.
A passenger, who decided to drive to Palmerston North after his flight at 8:20 am, was canceled and said there were "massive queues" at Air New Zealand's help desk, but people seemed good humor and staff was helpful.
The car rental tail was extending through the terminal door, as many passengers also changed their car to reach their destination.
Shortly before 8 o'clock in the morning of Saturday, MetService said he was waiting for the fog to become a mid-hour cloud.
"There is a lot of fog from Waikato through Auckland and up to Northland," said meteorologist MetService, Tui McInnes.
"It's very widespread in Auckland. We see him in Hamilton, to reach Auckland and go north to Whangarei, and even Kerikeri informs him this morning."
Fog restrictions were still at Auckland airport at 8:40 p.m.
The airport asked the passengers to check the Auckland airport website for up-to-date information on arrivals and departures.
Last Saturday, more than 100 regional flights were canceled and delayed in Auckland, as there were fog restrictions until 1:00 PM.
