macOS Big Sur 11.2.1 addresses the MacBook Pro’s charging issues

Today, Apple has released a small update to macOS Big Sur, with the number 11.2.1. It mainly fixes an issue that affected some MacBook Pro models that prevented the batteries from charging properly.

The update also fixed a sudo bug that in some cases could help allow an attacker to gain root access to the device, as well as some security-related updates.

Apple also released additional updates for Catherine 10.15.7 and Mojave 10.14.6 to fix the same security issues.

Apple’s very brief release notes for this update are as follows:

macOS Big Sur 11.2.1 fixes an issue that may prevent the battery from charging on some 2016 and 2017 MacBook Pro models.
