Red Hot Chili Peppers to Superloop Adelaide

The American funk rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers will be the main act on the Superleop of Adelaide 500 next year.

Best known for hits such as Under the bridge i Californication, the band will close the weekend race with a huge concert on Sunday evening on March 3.

The announcement was a famous secret until last night when the band broke the details by putting an Australian poster on Twitter.

"We love Australia and we can not wait to see all our fans in Adelaide when we drop the curtain

Superloop Adelaide 500, "said the band.

It will be the first visit of the band to Australia since they entered the recently released Big Dai Out in 2013, and their first cover tour in 12 years.

The Peppers concert will be a feather in the gates for the organizers of the Adelaide 500, in order to maintain the tradition of ending the weekend with a huge concert.

Tourism Minister David Ridgway said Red Hot Chili Peppers was the first of many exciting concert performances ahead of the 2019 event.

Last year, Robbie Villiams harassed thousands of people at weekends, including KISS, Motlei Crue, The Hilltop Hoods and Cold Chidel.

Adelaide Shov will be part of a huge national tour for the California band, taking in Sydney, Hunter Valley, Brisbane, Melbourne, Geelong, Hobart and Perth.

Australia may have been out of sight, but it was certainly not impossible for the band.

Bassist Flea, who is known for his philanthropy and his musical music, performed on an inaugural fundraiser for the Hollywood Foundation Foundation in Los Angeles last year, organized by actor and director Joel Edgerton.

He again supported Edgerton by waving the red carpet at the recent premiere of his Boi Erased movie.

During his last visit, frontman Anthony Kiedis drove off the road to the South Coast of the NSW with his good friend Lara Bingle, now Vorington.
