The owners of the emblematic "Circus Circus" of Mt Eden, in Auckland, offer a $ 500 reward for anyone who offers information that will allow the return of the clown to Bozo.

Bozo has been part of the Circus Circus Cafe's identity for more than two decades, sitting right in front of the front door.

However, on March 28, at some point between 20:00 and 23:00, Bozo disappeared, leaving the owner of the cafeteria Jonathan Rickard surprised.

At that time, Rickard told him Herald I could not believe someone stole Bozo.

A series of desperate locals have been making efforts to find the whereabouts of the iconic statue, but so far it has not served.

Owners have offered $ 500 to anyone who had information about the Parador de Bozo.

"We have the coffee shop for 25 years and the clown has been part of the company's identity for decades," Rickard said.

"It's just part of the community. It's right at the front door of the Circus Circus. We are in a state of surprise that someone will steal something like this.

"Citizens can not believe it. Our customers have come out in search. It's being exploited in social networks. Everyone wants to come back."

Bozo the clown wears a black and white coat with a red hat, pants and black shoes and plays a golden saxophone.

Rickard says that Bozo is around 1.6 m tall and is relatively heavy to move.

"It's part of our identity and we want to go home," he said.

The police are investigating the theft.
