Upgrade to the NVMe high speed Samsung 970 EVO SSD for cheaper than ever

If your computer or laptop supports NVMe storage of thunder, today is a good day to download one of our favorite SSDs. Amazon sales 500GB 970 EVO M.2 drive for $ 117. It's about $ 30 cheaper than it was late last week, and $ 26 cheaper than the 500GB VD Black 3D, a rival with a very low performance advantage at this capacity.

However, sacrificing little effect for a better price is a pretty good deal, especially when talking about SSDs this fast. We reviewed the Samsung 970 EVO in April and admired it for its affordable price and speed.

This 500GB record speed is slowed down after the cache has been maximized, but you should not encounter it if you do not run large amounts of data. In our tests, there was a slowdown after copying about 20GB of a unique 48GB file. If you are planning to copy 48GB of files permanently, it may be better for VD Black to work at a higher price. For everyone else, the Samsung 970 EVO should be more than fine.

The key feature of this device is the fast NVMe interface that replaces the traditional SATA III data transfer protocol. However, for the NVMe drive to work on your computer, you need a modern motherboard that supports NVMe. In addition, some of the earlier NVMe-compatible motherboards would not allow you to run from the NVMe disc because it was at the time a state-of-the-art technology. Updating the BIOS should be resolved for most people with older components these days. See more information about NVMe problems for more information.

If you can start the NVMe drive, Samsung says the reading speed of the 970 EVO can reach up to 3,500 megabytes per second. Under our tests, there were more than 3,004 MBps-still impressively impressive when you consider that Samsung is fast and always popular 860 EVO SATA SSD at the top of the announced 550MBps. If you move a lot of data, an upgrade to NVMe is worth it.
