At the headquarters of the Center for Hematology and Hemotherapy of Ceará (Hemoce), the vaccination of professionals in the unit against Covid-19 began this Thursday morning, 21, the fourth day of vaccination in Ceará. At the site, vaccination began around ten in the morning, with vaccination of an initial contingent of 88 people. The goal was to immunize those working in the coronavirus PCR testing analysis lab at the unit.

Pharmacist Veridiana Miyajima, 46, was the first to receive the dose. Amidst the joy, he expressed his gratitude for the vaccination, but also reflected on those who cannot live that moment. “How many lives were lost because they didn’t have that opportunity? I can say that I am privileged to have survived and even more so to receive the vaccine. It’s definitely exciting and rewarding, ”he said.

From March 2020, Hemoce developed, in collaboration with the FioCruz Foundation, the Covid-19 Laboratory. It analyzes the molecular tests of patients seen in hospitals of the state health network and suspected of being infected with the new coronavirus. In total, about 30,000 samples have already been processed at the site.
