After placing Gemini on the market – a PDA that can also be used to connect – Planet Computers has a new project ready to enter the market: Cosmo Communicator. Like its predecessor, Cosmo is a KVERTI keyboard that can be used as a phone, but claims to have far more features than the Gemini.
Apart from the 6-inch screen and videoconferencing inside the phone, the Cosmo Communicator exterior will not only be a protective case, it also has a 24-megapixel camera, a 2-inch screen, a microphone and a high speaker.
These changes allow the device to be used only as a camera, but also allows the user to connect without opening the cover, making the Comos Communicator much closer to the hybrid headset (for example, the Nokia E90 Communicator, for example) than the PDA.
Of course, the new Planet Computers also brings hardware improvements. Cosmo uses the newly-released MediaTek P70 8-core processor, has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of memory (which can be expanded with a memory card), all of which use the same 4.220 mAh battery as its predecessor. The device will have Android 9.0, but will also launch other Linux based operating systems, such as Sailfish and Debian.
Those interested in Cosmo Communicator can already access the pre-sale of the device via Indiegogo and there is no risk that the device will not leave the paper, since the company is yet another month until the end of the collection, but already exceeds 200% of the financial goal for creating the product.
The first models will be delivered to customers in May 2019, and Cosmo Communicator can be purchased for prices starting at $ 549.
