Change the PET with the ticket! Travel for free with STPT in exchange for recyclable waste

Timisoara residents will be able to travel by public transport, paying in exchange for PETs and aluminum cans, in the caravan “Change PET with the ticket”. The campaign will take place on October 1, between 8 and 16, in all the car parks of the Kaufland stores in Timișoara (Gheorghe Lazăr street 26, Dumbrăvița commune, Conac street 51, Damaschin Bojinca street, Mihail Kogălniceanu street , number 11 and pharmacies 5). 9).

The “Change PET by ticket” campaign has two main objectives: to encourage the use of public transport, as well as to promote the collection and recycling of waste which, in addition to being transformed into new resources, also facilitates public access to public transport. All passengers who choose to travel by public transport, to the detriment of their personal car, consume 114 grams less carbon dioxide per kilometer traveled, ”organizers say.

You need to bring five waste (PET, aluminum cans, glass) and put them in the automatic collection devices. After this process, the vending machines will issue a coupon on the basis of which you can receive the public transport ticket, valid for two trips. All PETs will be sent to recycling plants, where they will be transformed into new resources.

The campaign will also take place in Iasi, Buzau, Galati and another surprise city, which will be chosen based on the proposals of the public between September 24 and October 15.

The caravan “Change PET with the ticket” is a continuation of the initiative launched in Constanța and Craiova. 2,300 kg of waste were collected in the six editions held in Constanța and the Craiova edition.

The campaign is part of the “Acting for Water” program and the national green Friday program, initiated by the Ministry of Environment, an initiative designed to reduce pollution caused by car transport in large cities. All citizens are advised to use alternative transport to and from work.
