Dakar, July 27 (APS) – The head of state visited the epidemic treatment centers (CTE) in the Senegalese capital on Tuesday as the virulence of the third wave of Covid-19 intensifies day by day. day with increasing cases of pollution and deaths.

Macky Sall went to Dalal Jaam Hospital in Guédiawaye, Idrissa Pouye Hospital in Grand-Yoff, Fann Hospital and the main hospital, according to APS.

Senegal crossed the threshold of 1,300 deaths due to Covid-19 on Tuesday since the start of the pandemic on March 2, 2020, with 14 new deaths recorded on Monday, according to the Ministry of Health and Social Action.

The latest daily epidemiological bulletin indicates that of the 2,586 tests performed in the last 24 hours, 642 returned positive, ie a positivity rate of 24.83%.

Since March 2, 2020, Senegal has identified 58,523 infected people, including 45,768 cured, 1,300 dead.

In total, 11,454 patients continue to be treated in dedicated centers or at home.

On Monday, 16,277 people were vaccinated, bringing the total number of people receiving at least one dose to 656,290.

The Department of Health receives doses of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine Tuesday, the second birth in less than a week.

On its Twitter account, the Senegalese embassy in Beijing announced that 332,118 doses of Sinopharm vaccines were leaving Beijing this morning for Dakar, the third batch since the launch of the vaccination campaign.
