In more than 400 pharmacies across Serbia, from today to November 17, within the World Diabetes Day, citizens will be able to check whether they have an increased risk of diabetes.
Those who have already faced this disease will be able to receive useful therapy information and reduce the risk of deterioration. In the Pharmaceutical Chamber of Serbia, which initiated this action, they state that the consequences of an explosive increase in the number of patients represent a huge burden both for individuals and for the whole health system of each state. Prem? According to the Institute of Public Health "Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut", about 12% of the adult population has diabetes in Serbia, of which about eight percent is treated, while four percent of patients have no diagnosis and therefore there is no medical assistance.
– During the week, pharmacies that supported the action will participate in a systematic review for all people over 45 years of age. The goal is, as pharmacists, to contribute to preventing and delaying the onset of disease, by detecting patients who are pre-pregnant – say in the Pharmaceutical Chamber of Serbia.
