Pressures can cause skin cancer, but do not withdraw from the Serbian market

The Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Serbia (ALIMS) has sent an urgent warning to doctors and patients about the harmfulness of high-pressure drugs.

Drugs that are extensively used in Serbia, given to all patients with hypertension and containing the active substance hydrochlorothiazide, can cause non-melanoma skin cancer.

In the news, TV Prva published a list of 32 controversial drugs:

Enelapril, vivace, thermicol, korace, telmipres, skopril, iruzid, nebilet, mikardis, prilazid, losar, erinorm, kemokvin, hemopres, prilivap, prilinda, ampil, kazakombi, enap, lorista, tolukombi, valsakombi, enates, binevol, tritace, diunorm.

Cardiologists say these drugs are often prescribed and warn patients not to stop the therapy without consulting a doctor.

Pavle Zelić from ALMIS told TV TV that the drug will not be withdrawn from the market and that patients should not stop the therapy.

"This letter is a precautionary measure issued in Croatia and other countries of the European Union, there is no reason to withdraw the drug from the market, and the possibility of the emergence of these extremely rare types of cancer has been identified, all of which is a regulatory measure that aims to be more attentive. and patients pay attention to the skin, "he said.

He pointed out that the use of medicines continues as their advantage is excellent.
