Microsoft about four years ago it announced that Windows will finally become something "lighter", that is, it will take less space. For Windows 10, the company claimed 16 GB as a minimum space and now this capacity doubles.
When you know the minimum storage capacity necessary for the software, hardware vendors do not have too many options and have their own devices to store multiple stores. When Microsoft reduced the requirements of Windows 10 to 16 GB, this gave justification to the manufacturers (mainly tablet of budgets and mini PC) to incorporate at least 32 GB of space in devices. At the moment, even the phones have more storage (not counting the models of the lower segment).
There is another reason why Microsoft raises the limit. Earlier this year, the company announced that it left 7 GB for "Reserved storage" next, to make sure that the updates will not stop if the device runs out of memory. With 16 GB of required space and 7 GB for reserved storage, 32 GB of space users would only have 5 GB of storage for their needs.
Microsoft has increased the minimum required for Windows from 10 to 32 GB, as of the 1903 updates (May 2019). The application is applied to the 64 and 32 bit systems. In practice, this would require the manufacturer to install at least 64 GB of storage space on their computers.
Probably this will not be problematic for the newer systems that arrive during the year, but it could be a problem for existing devices that only have 32 GB of space. These PCs will not be able to upgrade to version 1903 Windows 10 and it continues to be the 1809 version that is expanding by 2020, which will make many PC upgrades possible.
