SINGAPORE: The certificate of ownership fee (COE) for August to October will drop by 17.7% compared to the previous quarter.
The COE quota from August to October will be 20,850, which went from the 25,347 COE from May to July, announced the land transport authority (LTA) in a press release on Thursday (July 18).

There will be a decrease in the number of U.S. issued for each category.
Category A, which is for cars up to 1,600 cc and with a maximum power of not more than 97 kW, will have a share of 6,338 COEs, 25.8% less than the 8.546 of the previous quarter. The average monthly payment is 2,112.
Category B, which is for cars above 1,600 cc or maximum power above 97 kW, will have a fee of 6,251, which is less than the 6,834 of the previous quarter. This means an average monthly fee of 2,083.
Goods vehicles and buses of category C will have a fee of 1,699, with an average monthly fee of 566.
In category D, which is for motorcycles, the COE fee is4,433, below the quota of 5,383 in the last quarter. The average monthly fee for this quarter is 1,477.
Open-ended vehicles will have a fee of 2,129, with an average monthly fee of 709.
