Macron says he still seeks Germans to submit a digital tax – Zeit



FRANKFURT – French President Emmanuel Macron said he still hopes to persuade Germany to support a digital tax on the European Union, despite Berlin's preference for minimum corporate taxes that would stop companies buying around tax havens.

"I hope that by December we can agree on a digital tax with the Germans," Macron told German weekly Zeit journalists at the margins of the speech engagement on Wednesday. "I will not give up."

An EU tax plan for big Internet companies like Google and Facebook about their traffic is on the brink of collapse after several members declined and announced national initiatives
