Recently, the death toll with covid-19 has been slightly higher than the previous one in Sweden, Ekot reports.
– It’s not entirely irrational to go up a bit now. We had an increased spread of the infection after the summer, says state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell.
The Swedish Public Health Agency average for the number of people who died with covid-19 per day is six people. Two weeks ago, the corresponding figure was three people.
Tegnell points out that among the dead, as before, there are many old and fragile. This is despite the fact that the average age among those who are intensely cared for by covid-19 is lower now than during the pandemic in general.
