VW will also offer its ID.3 compact electric vehicle with the smallest of the three batteries available. The new basic model “Pure” with a net battery content of 45 kWh can now be configured in the online configurator from 31,495 euros. The range is specified with 352 kilometers according to the WLTP standard, last year it was still 330 kilometers.
In addition to the ID.3 Pure, the “City” (from 34,415 euros) and “Style” (from 38,375 euros) versions are also available with the small battery. In addition to storage capacity, the models have in common an electric motor of 110 kW (150 hp) at the rear, which goes from zero to one hundred and up to 160 km / h in 8.9 seconds. Energy consumption is given at 14.9 kWh / 100 km according to WLTP. For AC charging, for example in a wall box at home or at work, unlike versions with a larger battery pack, a maximum charging capacity of 7.2 instead of 11 is available. , 0 kW.
So far, the ID.3 has only been sold with a 58 or 77 kWh battery. To reduce the entry price in the range from 34,995 euros to 31,495 euros, with the Pure ID.3, VW not only offers a smaller battery but also a lower DC charging capacity at public fast charging stations : 50 kW of power can be supplied by direct current – ID.3 City and ID.3 Style can fill the 45 kWh battery with up to 100 kW, some models with higher positions offer a charging power of 125 kW.
Standard with the ID.3 Pure are LED headlights with automatic headlights, traffic signal recognition, emergency brake assistant “Front Assist” with pedestrian and cyclist recognition, parking assistance and connectivity with smartphones via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The “Discover Pro” navigation system is also installed from the factory, but according to a note, this will only be the first year of the model, which will be available until mid-2021.
With the new ID.3 Pure, German customers also benefit from the € 9,000 “environmental bonus”. VW grants 3,000 euros of the electric car purchase premium funded by the federal government and industry as a net discount, and the state transfers 6,000 euros. Therefore, the ID.3 is available as a new car for much less than 30,000 euros until further notice. Later, a weaker electric motor could be installed, which lowers the price of the basic model to the promised “below 30,000 euros”: the current Pure ID.3 is on the price list with the addition of “Performance”, with VW as the most powerful of two available ID units.
For customers who want more autonomy, performance, or equipment, ten other preconfigured ID.3 versions are currently available. The widest range of 549 kilometers is offered by the “Pro S” variant, which costs 41,995 euros and has a 77 kWh battery, and also includes a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor and a load capacity of up to 125 kW. The second previous model, with a storage capacity of 77 kWh “Tour” for 49,685 euros, has a 150 kW (204 hp) engine and can consume 125 kW of electricity, but only manages 542 electric kilometers due to weight additional equipment.
