The research group identified by analyzing many cocoa products and powders showed that the highest content was cocoa butter and dark chocolate. The results of this study have shown that white chocolate barely contains vitamin D2, which supports the assumption that cocoa is a source of vitamins.
However, scientists do not recommend relying on these findings to consume large amounts of chocolate, as many will be needed to cover the need for vitamin D2, and the lack of vitamin D increases the risk of respiratory disease and osteoporosis.
