Review of the game: Alien: Blackout is not as bad as you would think

Alien: Blackout (iOS): in space stations, everyone can hear you cry

Tracking alien isolation can only be a mobile app, but it's tremendously tense and frightening …

Kingdom Hearts III - Year Game Material? Why Kingdom Hearts III could be my favorite game in 2019: Feature of the reader

At this time, we have to know better than say that any franchise in the game has completely exhausted the chances of a return, given how many have had unexpected remedies in recent years. But we are sure to say that there will never be a foreign isolation 2. There are many reasons to think that the most obvious thing is that the original was not a success, but it was clearly very expensive; which had a mixed critical reception; and that the original publisher Sega, who is also the owner of the Creative Assembly program, is no longer licensed.

But nothing is impossible. Sega hired the Creative Assembly in Microsoft, to make Halo Wars 2 and license holder 20th Century Fox (which will soon be bought by Disney) has recently created a new game publishing label, called FoxNext Games, who is currently working on what the Blackout press release describes as a "massively multiplayer online shooter set in the foreign cinematic universe."

Most importantly, this new mobile game refers to Isolation, stars in the same main character and even uses the same voice actress. Therefore, it is a sequel, literally, even if one of the fans has received nothing but anger and resentment since it was announced. Lifting reminded the fury of the Immortal Devil, and yet the alien: Blackout clearly does not prevent any game from the Alien based on the console and … it's actually nothing. bad.

Before continuing, we must point out that connections with isolation of the alloy are much smaller and they will easily lose any person who does not know the game. You have mentioned the Sevastopol space station, but it only offers a vague explanation of how Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen, survived the end. What matters is that it is trapped in the ventilation ducts of a different space station, the only survivor of an alien infestation.

Fortunately, a potential rescue boat arrives at the beginning of the game, but soon the reasons why the occupants have to explore the station and do not just leave immediately. Meanwhile, Ripley connects to a conduit terminal, which allows him to follow the movement of the crew and use a combination of cameras and followers of movement to look at the foreigner.

If you see, all you can do is close the doors to block your way or tell the crew members that they are hiding or running. You can also draw courses to follow them on the map, a bit like a strategy game in real time. The final problem is what to do if the foreigner arrives after Ripley, with the game offering a first-person view where you must quickly close a hatch-which will open again a few seconds later-to discourage the creature.

Alien: Blackout (iOS): there is no time to run now

However, you can not do everything at the same time, both in terms of keeping watch over everyone or using too many gadgets at the same time. Invest a door or activate a movement crawler, for example, use an energy unit and you only have a certain amount, so you often have to juggle exactly what systems are running at a time to insure -Do you have enough energy for what is currently the most important. In other words, and as if the hatch element was not quite obvious, the main influence here is five nights at Freddy's isolation instead of a foreign isolation

Along with a limit of eight minutes, all this increases enough to keep your interest, especially once you consider that only one crew member must do it on departure to complete a chapter. Therefore, using others as bait is a valid tactic, even if you really need to save enough to have the opportunity to complete the final meeting extremely difficult.

In terms of Alien presentation: Blackout is excellent. The graphics are excellent, both technically and recreating the appearance of the original movie (and, by connection, foreign isolation). The sound effects are also excellent: the game will advise you to play with headphones and the same awesome voice action. Although you hear all the lines repeated over and over, if a mission fails, it takes a little.

But, in general, Alien: Blackout is a well-intentioned mobile game in which you have spent a considerable amount of money and effort. It is repetitive and not very nuanced, and probably a few faces (although there are no microtransactions), but we have undoubtedly played much worse alien games in our time, consoles or not.

Alien: Blackout

To sum up: Similar and repetitive, but this new mobile game can be amazingly up to you and recreate the atmosphere of the first movie.

Pros: Great graphics and vocabulary, which show a clear understanding of the appeal of the original movie. The tactical options can be limited, but they combine well and can be really carriers.

Cons: The slow, shallow and repetitive game will hardly keep your attention until the end. Too expensive, with little reproduction value.
