CHICAGO: Chicago White Sox's base, Yolmer Sanchez, left Thursday's game against the Detroit Tigers with a lacerated right hand.
Sanchez required three suture points and is considered day by day. The White Sox has Friday off and they host the Chicago Cubs on Saturday.
After having been classified in the third inning, Sanchez was injured when the head of Tigers, Matthew Boyd, sent to the first base. Sánchez sank into the bag and the first base Niko Goodrum had to overcome Sánchez Clumsy to take the ball, cutting Sanchez's hand in the process.
Sánchez stayed a minute before leaving the field with manager Rick Renteria and a coach.
He was replaced by Daniel Palka, who remained in the game to play in the first base. Jose Rondon went from the first base to the second base.
The Tigers won 11-5.
